Sofia Caruso
CWRU PhD Student
Sofia is a PhD student in the Pharmacology Department at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She also serves on the Pharmacology GSO. Before her PhD, she worked as a Research Associate in the Genetics Medicine department at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, gaining experience in designing antibody-drug conjugate gene therapies and immunogenicity studies. At Wake Forest University, she spent six semesters researching platinum acridine therapies for various cancers.
Outside of the lab, Sofia holds a degree in creative writing with a focus on screenwriting. She is currently a stage manager and sketch writer for CWRU’s Doc Opera fundraiser. She enjoys making people laugh and finding new ways to do so. She also loves the Great British Bake Off, which has led to many midnight desserts and some very confused (but well-fed) friends the next day.
