Sita Karan Patel

Research Assistant

Sita received her M.S. in Bioinformatics from Northeastern University, where she built a strong foundation in computational genomics and high-throughput sequencing analysis. She has experience in multi-omics data analysis, with a focus on single-cell RNA sequencing, genomic variant analysis, and bioinformatics pipeline development.

Prior to joining the lab, she worked as a Senior Research Associate in bioinformatics at Stratus Therapeutics, developing and optimizing scalable pipelines for next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including CRISPR genome-integrity analyses and single-cell transcriptomic profiling. Her work has involved integrating bulk and single-cell datasets, applying statistical and machine learning approaches to understand more about the HSCs biology. In the Miller Lab, she analyzes single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data. Her research interests lie in computational biology and machine learning, with a long-term goal of applying advanced computational methods to improve biological understanding.
