Sanya Mehta
Postdoctoral Fellow
Sanya Mehta is a postdoctoral fellow who is interested in understanding and reprogramming the interactions between glioma-infiltrating myeloid cells and CAR T cells to overcome resistance to immunotherapy. Her work focuses on using advanced glioma organoid models to longitudinally profile CAR T cell responses and myeloid cell evolution, and on developing novel myeloid-targeting strategies to improve the efficacy of anti-glioma CAR T cell therapies.
Sanya earned her PhD in Biomedical Sciences from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee where she investigated the mechanisms underlying both the efficacy of and resistance to B7-H3-targeted CAR T cell therapy in pediatric ependymomas.
Outside the lab, Sanya loves cycling, rock climbing, backpacking, pottery, and spending time outdoors
